This section contains link to websites and articles that provide more detailed information about the recruiting process. The NCAA websites and guides are official publications of the NCAA and therefore are the definitive authority recruiting resourcesregarding recruiting rules and processes. Links to other sites and articles contain the opinions and perspectives of their respective authors and should be taken as instructive rather than definitive.

KNOWING THE RULES

It is extremely important to understand the recruiting rules and processes that apply to you as a student-athlete and to the college coaches that may recruit you. Several sports have exceptions or variations to these rules so it’s important to understand the rules as they relate to your sport. Two excellent resources that summarize these rules are:

  • The 2014-2015 Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete published by the NCAA. Following is a link to this guide: [Link]
  • The College Planning Guide for Student Athletes 2014-2015 Edition, published by the NHHEAF College Network Organization’s Center for College Planning.
